Jibber Jabber (About Me)

Welcome to the about me portion of the program, where I tell you how flippin' awesome I am and why you'll enjoy this blog more than any other blog on the Web. But I don't have it in me to do that. Sorry.

This is where I tell you that I married my post-high school sweatheart (15 years ago this August), have a 12 year-old daughter and 4 year-old son (who adore me more than I'll ever adore them), and have no pets (mainly because we're all too lazy to take one outside at 3AM for a poop). My family struggles to coexist in an overcrowded apartment while I try to figure out who it is I want to be when I finally grow up. If you've read the blog, you know that I'm nowhere near ready to grow up and probably think we're going to be in said overcrowded apartment for a while. Chances are you're right.

In addition to all of that, I'm a full-time student at the University of North Texas, where I am majoring in English with a concentration in creative writing (See? I have some direction). What it is I'll do with a such a degree remains a mystery. I'll probably just quit my job and watch The Talk every afternoon. I love me some Julie Chen and the rest of the gals. College at 35 is really nothing more than a way to bridge the gap between my real life and the day Hollywood finally figures out that they've been missing my services all these years. So far nothing.

I miss the 1980's. Desparately. I miss the music. I miss the movies. I miss the television shows. Like Eddie Money, I wanna go back. I want to do it all over. This is why one day I will have a time machine. I don't want to go back and right certain wrongs or keep future me from making mistakes - I just want to take my kids back to the 80's when life was rad. I want them to experience the world just as I did when I was their age. That and I really liked watching Magnum P.I.

Until then, I'll be here, writing. I hope you'll not only become a permanent fixture in my world but that you'll share it repeatedly with others by word of mouth or via whatever social media fits you best, because in my world, random is king and just about anything's possible when you're Her Living Room Hero.
